I am happy to announce that I have passed the PMP exam, which was held on 25 March 2018.
My journey began in August 2017 when I enrolled at Synergy School of Business Skills, a Division of CADD Centre Mumbai, India. It was a great choice, and it was a great place to learn PMP. My trainer, Mr. Kalpesh Ahar, deserves a special thank you for his guidance and efforts.
After I had earned the 35 PDU’s, I noticed a drastic drop in my preparations. This was due to a heavy work load and I couldn’t find enough time to prepare. I booked my exam date in November 2017 because I believed that without a date for the exam, preparations would be futile.
A member of the I want to become PMP group recommended me to the WinningPMPlan whatsapp group. It is managed by Vidyesh Alve (a great PMP expert) and Vidhi Raj (a great PMP administrator). This group was a turning point for me as it allowed me to communicate with 150 other PMP aspirants while being guided by a dozen PMP experts. Over 1000+ PMP exam preparation questions were answered and explained within three months. There were also detailed discussions. Many study materials were also provided for free, which was very helpful. Vidyesh and Vidhi appoint mentors for PMP aspirants to ensure maximum benefits and better results. Although I didn’t choose to be a mentor, it was always better to have one. I must thank each and every member of WinningPMPlan group for their help and support especially Vidyesh, Vidhi, Anitha, Asha, Ataullah, Devang, Faisal, Kavita, Koyel, Madhusudhan, Sapna, Senthil Kumar, Sharique, Smita, Tijo, Vivek, Yazeed, Arun, Matt……………it’s an endless list. God bless them all and keep them safe.
I used the questions and study materials shared by the WinningPMPlan group heavily for my preparations. Rita’s book was read at least three to four times. I answered the questions at the end each chapter of Rita’s, Edwell’s, Headfirst, and Andy Crowe books at minimum 3-4 times. I would only attempt the questions I failed to answer the first time I attempted them. I took mock exams from Prepcast PMstudy Wiley, Andy Crowe, and Wiley. I also answered all Rita Fastrack knowledge area questions. I didn’t attempt to memorize ITTO’s. I used PMP Exam Mentor, PMP exam Prep apps. Both were very helpful to me.
I stopped doing MOCK tests three days before the exams and just read Rita again, along with some flashcards.
I completed 200Q in the exam in 3 hours. After that, I took a quick 5 minute break. I used the remainder of the exam time to review the questions marked. I have to say that half of the questions were easy and the rest were difficult. I used elimination method to answer most of the questions. I was prepared for a lot of numerical questions, which was a good thing. I’m certain I got most of my ITTO questions right because I used logic rather than memorization.
I want to thank everyone at Synergy, WinningPMPlan, my family and friends, and all of their support.
It’s great to be a PMP.
I wish everyone success in their future endeavors.
